Radon Sampling: Radon charcoal cannister sampling
The Iowa Radon Lung Cancer Study proved a valid
link between exposures to low levels of radon and an
increased risk of lung cancer.
Testing provides an accepted method of determining whether
radon is present in buildings.
Elevated levels of radon are present at some Metro Atlanta
locations. http://www.epa.gov/radon/states/georgia.html

Each kit contains two charcoal test cannisters; the second
serving as a control.
Duration of test: cannisters are exposed to ambient
indoor air for 48-96 hours.
Protocol: test cannisters are placed at the end of the
home inspection and retrieved by the inspector after the
48-96 hour test period.
They are mailed to a test laboratory and the results are
emailed to the client upon completion of the lab analysis.
Total time from placement of the cannister to reporting of
test results varies from 5-8 working days. Inspector
access is required to retrieve the test kits.
Your inspector provides appropriate testing methodology,
chain of custody, and recommendations should test results
exceed action levels.
The test devices do NOT present a hazard to the occupants
of the dwelling
