Islands without bridges We are inspired by the Block Island website. Block Island is between Long Island and Marthas Vineyard about six miles off the coast of Rhode Island. We love the website because it seems to capture the essence of life there. Going the the site is as close to being there that you can get on the web. (08-05-02

Of course the Southeast coast and particularly Georgia have many such islands.
