Senior Knight - April 20 - Grady Stadium
Well, we need your help. There will be 47 seniors = 141 balloons, 141
streamers. We are going to be blowing up balloons in the storage
area under the stadium (where they store the soccer concession stand
stuff) beginning about 5 pm on Friday.
I understand the boys will be playing at 6 pm. The senior presentation
will follow. Many of you are parents of seniors, and will be in the parade
of athletes. But you can still help with the balloon filling and tying of
streamers.
For those of you who are not parents of seniors - we desperately need
you to congratulate the athletes; hold balloons; pass them to seniors;
pass out framed photo; line up athletes and escorts; signal to the SGA in
the press box. Please repsond or call 404-872-0456 if you can be of help.
Bring friends, too.

GreyKnightsBoosterClub - March meeting notes
No nominating committee was elected from the four attending members.
There was discussion whether there was any member interested in serving as
an officer for the coming year. It was decided that officers would be
elected from the floor at the April meeting or it there were no one to
serve, the members present could vote to disband the organization and
determine to terms of its disolution. (Sarah Chaffin has interest in
sharing the duties with another parent. She will not do it alone.)
The Summerfest Fundraiser (manage parking lot with shuttle to event)
will be put on hold until interest is shown to continue club. Jo Giardina
4)885-1071 is ready to organize the June 1,2 event. A parent leader from
each team is needed to contact volunteers to work during that weekend as
drivers as well lot workers.
Helpers are needed at the Spring Senior Knight, April 20, to line up
parents and athletes, prepare ballouns and gifts, and distribute them to
athletes. Please contact Debbie DeMoss, 4)872-0456. Ceremony will be held
between the girls and boys' soccer games against Decatur.
The Grady Athletic Department will hold its Sports Banquet at the
Ramada Conference Center on May 18. Sarah Chaffin needs help with
decorations. If you have noted your interest on membership form and still
would like to help, please contact her, 4)344-5487.

December 12, 2000 Booster Update
New
information:
- The Athletic Department’s washing machine
died during football season. Repairs are priced at $2000 and it would
be better to replace with a new machine ($4000). APS Athletic Department does
not have replacement in its budget. Principal Dr. Murray does not have
money for this item, but is doing research to find where it
originated. Perhaps his
search can find a source within APS.
Anyone knowing of any others options please contact our
Athletic Director Coach Slade, Football Coach Hill (404-853-4027) or
Debbie DeMoss (404-872-0456).
- Parents and staff want to improve the weight
room currently located in the boys’ gym, on the gymnasium floor
level near stairs to boys’ locker room and concession stand. Debbie
DeMoss (404-872-0456) is gathering information about the possibility
of relocating the weight room. Grady
security guard and long time fan, Officer Hoffman (404-853-4000) is
working on getting new equipment.
- Yeah! Jo Giardina has agreed to lead the
Summerfest Parking Lot fundraiser.
He will begin organization and looking into improvement in
January 2001.
- Grady Student Government Association
wants to improve attendance at basketball games. There will be grade level
attendance competition at these games: Freshmen –Jan. 9, Sophomore – Jan. 19, and
Junior – Jan.26. Look
for details to come. A
pep rally is also being planned. The class representatives meet every
Monday morning.
Ongoing
- Winter sports schedules and scores are

- Put the last home game on your calendars to
honor the Senior Knights of winter – basketball and debate
– February 3.
- No news on selection of tennis or boys track
coach.
- Players and parents remember you must have
your health card up to date in order to participate in spring
sports. Get them updated
now.
- Purchase or order Grey Knights t-shirts,
Grady High School denim and polo shirts, or even window stickers
from Sarah Edwards at basketball games or on line at www.gradyhighschool.org/boosterclub_shirts.html.

too.
