The 4 circles

6/9/2007

There used to be 3 big dogwoods in the circle. Garbage truck are bigger and we now have recycling trucks too. If there is one rut in the circle, it's an invitation to the next truck. Now the trees are dead and we have red clay when it's dry and a red puddle when it's wet.

Our beautiful Reeder Circle Circle today:

Reeder is one of the 3-sister dead ends along with Zimmer and Spring Valley.

The Zimmer Circle has a bigger radius and the green space is big enough to be an Atlanta City Park compete with sign and bench.

But the Zimmer Circle is full of ruts too:

Folks have suggested that we remove the whole circle and pave over it.
That would solve the truck problem. But the Spring Valley Circle is a bit short of green:

The new Lullwater / North Decatur Circle suggests a solution.
Of course it's expensive and engineered, but I like it. It preserves the radius, leaves some green, and is somewhat decorative.

I don't really like the yellow line and the brick looks costly but it's nice:
