Database Interface
Booklight Inc. now offers database-run websites for publishers. Our database system streamlines the information on the website, creating a more efficient site that is quick and easy for the client to maintain. The system is created specifically for publishers and provides options such as:
- Title
- Categories/Subjects
- Subcategories
- Book description
- Promotional blurbs
- A page of new releases
- A page of coming soon/forthcoming books
- Individual author pages, including biographies and lists of all books by that author
- A shopping cart checkout program fully integrated into the website; also allows the publisher to put some or all books on sale at their discretion
- All metadata such as page numbers, weight, dimensions, illustrations
- Small and large covers for each book
- Links to related products
- Sample content such as excerpts, table of contents, illustrations, etc.
- Links to external, related sites (such as websites about the book, or the author's site)
- Reviews (either links to external reviews or the text of the review formatted as part of the website)
- Related news or events (such as author's speaking tour, interviews with author, etc; can be an external link or a database-driven page on the site)

Once information is entered into our simple and easy-to-understand database back end, it will appear instantly on the website. This allows publishers to maintain their own book data without worrying about design or programming. It also allows for automatic organization (by category, title, author, publication date, etc.). We can often customize the database to allow for the individual preferences of the publisher. We can also customize the design to match the "look" that the publisher requires; see some of our many examples below!
