****All books and videos should be returned to the media center as soon as possible.  Students will not receive their report cards or be able to graduate until books are returned to the media center or paid for.

****The media center welcomes your contribution of classic books or current fiction.  Hardbacks and paperbacks are accepted, but no text books, please.  If you have questions, please contact our media specialist, Mr. Surber.

****We have two parents nominated for the local school council. They are Barb Hopkins and Diane Terrell. The two teachers that have been nominated are George Darden and Audrey Reynolds.

****Ms. Whitten and the Interact Club would like to thank parents, staff, and students for a successful book fair! The Interact Club earned $200 for the African Library Project. The proceeds will benefit the building of a library in war-torn Kigali, Rwanda, Africa. Working in conjunction with the West End Rotary Club, the Interact Club's sponsoring organization, Ms. Whitten and students hope to send a Grady Grad to deliver the funds in person. Details are forthcoming!

Thanks also to members of the Grady "family" for tremendous support for the Samaritan House clothing drive and Genesis Shelter shoebox drive. These are ongoing efforts by the Interact Club to provide support for homeless individuals and families who are trying to get a hand up, not a hand out. Please contact Ms. Whitten at whitten@gradyhighschool.org if
you are interested in donating items.
