Announcements *****************

*** In an effort to improve the course scheduling process at Grady High School, I want to hear from you, the parents. I would like written communication regarding successes and problems encountered this semester either by you or your student regarding the scheduling process, course assignments or number of students in the class. I want to be able to provide APS real information about how the implementation of the new computer scheduling system, SASI, has affected the start of school this year. I need your input by Tuesday, Sept 10. Send it to Diane Terrell atlantaddt@aol.com

***Congratulations to the following Grady students who will be participating in APS’s study abroad program this semester.  Lisa Pastoria, Allison Vaughn, Sean Corley and John McDaniel will be in France.  Joe Oliver, Kimberly Hagen, Katherine Hagen, Catherine Secrest and Laura Jones will be in Spain.  Congratulations also to Isabel Wilson who will spend the school year in Italy.

***Welcome to the following students who will be attending Grady this year.  Levente Pazmany from Slovakia, Katerina Saikouska from the Ukraine, Silke Albrecht from Germany, Turana Baghirova from Azerbaijan, Vicente Machado-Silva from Brazil, Quentin Mourichoux from France and Sabrina Siegmann from Germany.

***The Interact Club wants your help! We welcome donations of travel size toiletries, small items for infants (pacifiers, socks, washcloths, etc.), and school/art supplies for preschoolers and elementary age students (small size items, please). These items are being placed in welcome boxes for residents at the Genesis Shelter. The shelter serves women and children and helps them get a fresh start. Please send all items to Ms. Whitten in Room 302.

The Interact Club also needs parent drivers to take students to the Atlanta Community Food Bank and Project Open Hand. Directions will be provided. Parents may accompany students at the service sites or may simply drop off and pick up. Activities take place on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month between 4 and 7:30 p.m.  For more information or to express interest in driving, call Ms. Whitten at (404)296-2261.
